The school health nurse program works with school support and wellbeing teams to improve health and education outcomes for children and young people in Tasmania.
Our focus in the secondary school setting involves health promotion activities and health education on a wide variety of health and wellbeing topics.
The school health nurse also offers small group work and tier programs.
Individualised support - targeted hearing and vision screenings, supporting students with medical conditions as well as self-referrals and teacher and parent/guardian referrals with consent. Short term intervention and support with onward referral if needed.
Feel free to contact your school nurse via your school office or grade leader. They are happy to talk about any concerns or questions regarding the health and wellbeing of your child or school community.
